Description

A Blacksmith (profession) can be placed in the Thrall slot of the  Blacksmith's Bench,  Improved Blacksmith's Bench,  Garrison Blacksmith's Bench,  Campaign Blacksmith's Bench as well as  Tinker's Bench and  Casting Table.
A Blacksmith (profession) can also be placed at the  Artisan Table,  Khitan Artisan Table,  Aquilonian Artisan Table,  Turanian Artisan Table and  Argossean Artisan Table, but does not provide any benefits.

Benefits

Every type of blacksmith increases the weapon damage, the armor penetration, the durability of weapons and tools and decreases their weight. This scales first with their rank, and then depending on the stat in in question, with their Specialization.

• There are now 3 types of Tier 4 Blacksmiths with different bonuses:
  • File:IconBlacksmithEdgesmith.pngEdgesmiths provide maximum armor penetration.
  • File:IconBlacksmithBladesmith.pngBladesmiths provide maximum damage.
  • File:IconBlacksmithTempersmith.pngTempersmiths provide maximum durability.
• Purge thralls do not seem to have any additional benefit whatsoever, beyond their Specialization.
• Blacksmiths tier 3 and above give access to the Reinforce recipe that decreases the cost of  Steel Reinforcement by a factor of 5.
• Tempersmiths give access to Legendary Weapon Repair Kit in the  Tinker's Bench.
• Armor penetration bonus values are shown relative based off of the original value, aka 10% -> 11% meaning a 10% increase.
• Armor penetration bonus scales with base armor penetration, so if a weapon has 0% armor penetration, Edgesmiths won't provide any bonus.

• All the values are derived from manual testing ingame. Internal rounding results in minor variations.

With the 2.1 Update to Conan Exiles, the crafting speed benefits for blacksmiths have been erased, as this has been baked into the various blacksmith crafting benches.

• Tiers 3 and 4 Blacksmith (profession)s grant the recipe Reinforce, lowering the cost of  Steel Reinforcements.
