Sometimes an enemy will fight to the death. Sometimes an enemy will flee like a coward.
With this blunted javelin, a single well-placed throw can put down a fleeing enemy for interrogation and humiliation at a later point.
It can be used in regular melee, of course, but it is somewhat less effective at stabbing than a regular pointed weapon.
Notes
It can be used to knock out enemies.
The Blunted Javelin rivals the Reinforced Steel Truncheon and approaches Szeth's Truncheon in concussive damage.
Considering it is available at level 21 for minimal resources and 1 feat point, this is an excellent choice over standard Truncheons.
+ Includes 4-atk moveset, better reach, and easily repaired.
-- Wonky attack moves sometimes miss, it lacks durability, not able to use modifications, and is also easily losable (if thrown).

Used by watchmen and criminals alike, the truncheon is designed for incapacitating enemies without killing them.
Shemitish slavers have been known to waylay travelers leaving taverns in the meadowland cities and expertly knocking them out. The poor wretches awaken the next day in a wagonful of other captives with sore heads, on their way to the slave markets of the east.
It takes a great deal of experimentation to understand how to hit an enemy just hard enough to knock them out without smashing their skull.
