Experience is a measure of progression of Characters in Conan Exiles.

Earning sufficient experience allows a character to gain a level and earn both Attribute points and Feat Points.

Earning Experience[edit | edit source]

Experience is earned in the following ways:

Slaying Enemies[edit | edit source]

Each Creature is worth a set amount of experience when killed, as are Thralls.

See the Creatures page for the amount of experience gained for each creature.

Exploring[edit | edit source]

While exploring Locations across the Map, players gain an increasing amount of experience based on how many locations they have already discovered.

Crafting[edit | edit source]

Experience is earned from Crafting whether Weapons, Armor, or Building parts.

Each of the items that are crafted awards an amount of experience to the character that crafts it, or if crafted on a workbench, to the character that queued the crafting up on the workbench.

Gathering/Harvesting[edit | edit source]

Each gathered item awards 1 point of experience:

  • Picking up a stone from the ground yields 1xp.
  • Mining 3 stone from a deposit yields 3xp.
  • Mining 10 ironstone yields 10xp.

This means that Harvesting with higher tier tools will gain more experience due to yielding more resources.

The Exiles Journey[edit | edit source]

Completing steps of The Exiles Journey awards an increased amount of experience based on the number of journey steps already completed. The experience awards can become very significant later in the game.

Passive XP gain[edit | edit source]

Whilst online, characters gain 10 experience every 10 seconds.

Experience Required[edit | edit source]

The following table shows the amount of experience required to gain each level and the difference between each level.

Follower Experience[edit | edit source]

A Follower will only gain experience while following a player. Unlike players, they start at level 0 instead of 1 and have a level cap of 20. They gain perks at levels 10, 15, and 20.

Followers come in three tiers of training difficulty. Medium difficulty requires twice the experience of Easy, and Hard requires three times as much.

Follower difficulties[edit | edit source]

All followers of the same type will always have the same difficulty. Training difficulty is tied to a follower's species (for pets) or faction (for thralls). For instance, all spiders will be equal, and all Black Hand will be equal, regardless of the relative quality of the specific individual compared to another of the same species/faction.
