Description[edit | edit source]
When the armies of Stygia march, it is an impressive sight. In the vanguard, bow-wielding nobles riding bronze-worked chariots drawn by black horses and behind them, the glittering columns of mail-clad warriors.
The Stygian pike men are sometimes called hoppers by their enemies. Their insistence in wearing open soled sandals into battle means that in the clash of shield walls, enemies will often target their feet.
Stygian officers, however, consider this a boon as an enemy focused on looking down is less likely to see the pike that pierces their helmet.
The pinnacle of protection, heavy armor is a solid wall of defense against any type of attack, but the extreme weight requirements mean that the wearer must sacrifice mobility.
