Both couch and bed, the divan probably originated in Vendhya or Turan, but it rapidly became popular among nobles in other lands. The most elaborate of divans are made of silk and gold inlaid ebony, but they can also be made from simple materials.
The nobles of Tarantia are less likely to use their divan for sleeping - rather they lounge while conducting business and sampling dishes with friends.
When somebody dies in the Exiled Lands, they awaken in the last place that they slept, unaware of how or why they got there. Using a bed will set it as your spawn point until it is destroyed.
