The brave soldiers who make up the infantry of Aquilonia come from all the provinces of the land. Proud Attalusians, grey-eyed Bossonians, hardy Gunderman, chivalrous Poitainians and sly Tauranians make up their ranks and they take pride in their diversity.
Each recruit is given a set of armor, javelins, a pike, and a shield. They are taught to withstand the charge of cavalry, to form a shield wall and to break their enemies. They fight together and die together.
Known as a segmented cuirass, these can be crafted with metal or stiffened leather bands. The signature cuirass style of the Aquilonian infantry is well known throughout the lands - and the mere sight of it is enough to send would-be raiders scurrying for the hills.
Offering significantly more protection than light armor, this medium armor incorporates many elements that balance protection and agility. This middle of the road approach brings compromises of its own because this armor is neither as strong as heavy armor, nor as flexible as light armor.
